Our story began in San Diego in 2014, during the final, revolutionary years of California’s Prop 215 medical marijuana era. When we started, CBD was a little-known compound, and the industry was an untamed frontier.
There were no easy answers. Testing was in its infancy, and product quality varied wildly. We navigated this world firsthand, traveling up and down the coast, building relationships with farmers, and learning directly from patients. We saw what worked, what didn’t, and why. This experience in the wild early days taught us one thing above all else: how to identify true purity and effectiveness. Meet Robyn
Robyn founded The CBD Expert in San Diego in 2014, during the final years of California’s Prop 215 medical marijuana era. Over a decade working directly with growers, manufacturers, and patients, Robyn developed a simple standard: if a formula couldn’t out-perform what a patient had already tried elsewhere, it didn’t belong in the store. That standard led to the discovery of the original Whole Flower Fluid formula in 2016 — the same standard still governs every product carried today.
Robyn holds a Master’s degree and continues to work directly with formulators and manufacturers rather than through resellers or distributors — a hands-on approach that’s shaped this business since day one.
