The above headline from a Salk Institute report refers to a toxic protein called amyloid beta. “It has long been known that amyloid beta accumulates within the nerve cells of the aging brain well before the appearance of Alzheimer’s disease symptoms and plaques.” Additionally, amyloid beta has been found to be a major component of the plaque deposits that are a hallmark of the disease.

These results implied that the CBD components of cannabis might be useful to treat and prevent AD because CBD components could suppress the main causal factors of AD. Moreover, it was suggested that using CBD and THC together could be more useful than using CBD or THC alone.
