CBD for Healthy Aging, and More

I’ve just spent one month in a retirement home visiting my parents. For years, I’ve been sending them the Wholeflower CBD to take daily. And I’m so grateful that I did. But I wanted to share with our community that, I have learned that CBD for healthy aging is fantastic, but it’s not enough.

I am blown away by the differences in mobility and quality of life for seniors of the same age.

While some are active and having the time of their life in this retirement home, which my Dad describes as a summer camp for seniors, others have serious mobility and cognitive issues.

CBD for Mobility and Cognitive Issues

It has been well-proven by thorough scientific studies that high quality CBD helps with mobility and cognitive issues. Please visit the only CBD website in the world that was around when we launched in 2014 – Project CBD – for detailed lists of scientific studies searchable by condition.

One of the most amazing benefits of CBD is its neuroprotective properties. This means that in cases of mobility problems due to a neurodegenerative disease, CBD could reduce the symptoms of loss of mobility and motor skills.

Its neuroprotective effects are extremely valuable as no drugs exist that have similar properties.

Exercise Exercise Exercise

Every single doctor we visited recommended some form of daily exercise for whatever condition we were visiting about. This is the main reason I am writing this blog. I know so many people 60 years and younger who do not exercise. They don’t go for a simple daily walk or do stretching or yoga.

Last month, I discovered a simple and fun 4-minute workout that I have incorporated into my daily routine. It was created by Zach Bush, MD. In just 4 minutes, you activate the16 largest muscle groups in your body. It is free, easy and effective. It revolves around the body’s ability to use nitric oxide for muscle growth. I highly encourage all of you to try it.

Stay Active and Social

The next piece of advice I learned from the last 4 weeks is to stay active not only with exercise, but with friends, family, hobbies, and interests. I plan on setting up a monthly meeting with my group of friends. I realized that since the shutdowns of 2020, many of us are not seeing each other regularly.

I’m lucky that there are many things I love to do, and that I live in a country where I constantly work my brain with a second language. I encourage any of you who might be spending too much time watching TV or being alone and bored, please find activities to do. While you still can! If you don’t know how to do this, feel free to reach out to us and we’ll provide some advice based on the country you live in.

CBD For Healthy Aging and Inflammation

Lastly, I’d like to point out that anyone taking daily pain medicine, please check with your doctor if CBD might be a viable replacement. Whether a complete replacement, or to allow you to take less, daily pain medication, even if it’s not opiates, affects the liver and other parts of the body and can interfere with a healthy aging process.
